  • Real Sociedad forward Edna Imade bags top monthly honour, scoring five goals for Real Sociedad in October.
  • Imade's international future remains a key talking point, with her leaning towards representing Spain's La Roja.

Real Sociedad's striker of Nigerian descent, Edna Imade, has been crowned the Liga F Moeve Player of the Month for October.

The forward's exceptional form saw her play all three league matches, netting an impressive five goals and solidifying her position as the second-highest scorer in the competition.

The announcement was made on Monday, November 3rd, after the 24-year-old was chosen over six other nominees, including Real Madrid’s Caroline Weir and FC Barcelona’s Vicky López.

Imade, who played every minute (270) across the three October fixtures, sees her five-goal haul include a crucial strike against Costa Adeje Tenerife and two vital braces against her former club Granada CF and SD Eibar.

This stellar run of form has seen her total six goals for the season, continuing her remarkable consistency that builds on the September Player of the Month award won by Luany.

While Imade's Nigerian roots are often highlighted, her international future at the senior level remains uncertain, as reports suggest that the talented forward is leaning towards representing Spain.

Spain's national team coach has recently confirmed their efforts to finalise the necessary citizenship paperwork for Imade, who has a strong connection to Spain, having grown up there.

Imade is set to receive her well-deserved Player of the Month trophy before the highly anticipated Basque derby against Athletic Club on Sunday, November 16, at the Anoeta stadium.
